BKC IV: German Pincer Attack
Relief of a Trapped Canadian Brigade
Another BKC IV scenario as we continue to learn the nuances of the revised rules. This time we toned down the amount of artillery that was available and we used the optional rule where hits don't vanish at the end of each side's turn, which worked really well! A Canadian brigade had penetrated the German defenses and was now trapped. A relief force was organized and ordered to link up with the trapped unit along with ammo and supplies. The Germans at the same time launched a pincers type counterattack, which generated some huge slugfests across the length of the table. On one side an understrength Sherman battalion fought it out with a Panther company and a lone Tiger for several turns, winning through attrition! The relief column ran into heavy opposition as well, but in a series of close range actions, was able to break through to the trapped brigade. A well fought and balanced scenario that will be published in Issue #54 of Warning Order, due out in April.
