WMA

Based off of the popular Warmaster Fantasy rules, this version adds most armies from the Classical, Dark Ages, and Medieval periods. Each unit consists of three stands with a simple, but every effective command and control system that creates a unique level of chaos. Each army is led by a general and several leaders, plus a set number of units that must be in the army, leaving the remaining points up to the players to choose their forces. We use 10mm figures by Old Glory, Magistar Militum, Minifigs, Pendraken, and Kallistra. We find that WMA and WMM are fast playing, a lot of fun, and is certainly suitable for large groups where we occasionally use up to 2500 points per side. We currently have around a dozen armies and are looking to paint more as well as working on doing a campaign at some point.

Warmaster Ancients Tournament

 

The Tournament Begins: 1st/2nd Round Action

It's been quite a while since the last update! The Holidays, played some board games, car problems, etc., prevented us from playing something that generated enough images for a web update. With all of that behind us, it's time for another Warmaster Ancients tournament. This time, with everyone having different schedules, up to 6 players, etc., we are running this an "ongoing" tournament, hoping to get everyone at least 4 games this time. the pictures above are from the first three games, although a few of us only have one game in so far and need to make up some ground! As always, there are some interesting armies that create unusual matchups. This year we have A German renaissance force, Hittites, Samurai, Imperial Romans, Vikings, and Indians. Everyone gets 750 points plus a free general, then the forces from their starting three territories. THis gives everyone an army of about 1100 points, which works great for a two hour game and we can usually do two games a night. So far, the Romans have won their first few games and have racked up an impressive amount of casualty points, although the Samurai are close behind. More games to come over the next few months, in between all of our other gaming!
