WMA: Destruction of the Seleucids
Roman Steamroller Does its Work
While we've certainly had several large Roman vs. Seleucid battles in the past, they are usually pretty close run affairs that are often decided in the last turn or so. Not so much this time! both sides got off to a flying start and it looked like it would be an early night as each army moved quickly to the center of the battlefield. That's when half of the Selecuid army decided to go on strike, rolling poorly for command and melee at the worst times possible. Before you knew it the Romans were in control of the center of the board and the Seleucids were trying to play catch up as they were losing units too quickly. In fact, it was the first time that we had seen elephants not even score a hit and obliterated in just two combats. To make matters worse, the fearsome Guard and Hypaspists failed to make headway against Roman archers, which was not a good sign! In the end the Romans crushed everything in their path and the Seleucids had their worst WMA night ever. The only good thing was that everyone liked my new Cigar Box desert mat!
